But while PepsiCo became famous as a manufacturer of junk food, one woman dared to change all that. Indra Nooyi, president and CFO, has directed the company’s decade-long restructuring. From “unhealthy foods”, PepsiCo forged further into nutritious products. Many people thought that this was a huge mistake, after all, the company has already established its name, and has been successful in doing so. However, Nooyi had other plans in mind.
Apparently, one of the top women entrepreneurs’ business acumen was spot on. Since she started as the CFO, PepsiCo’s annual revenue has risen to 72%. Net profit also doubled, reaching $5.6 billion in 2006.
Sometimes, it takes a woman’s touch to turn things around. Nooyi’s vision and success at PepsiCo proves this point.
