Nicole Lederer, one of the co-founders of E2, said in an interview that E2 does not have a paid lobbyist in its organization. Furthermore, she clarifies that E2 is not an environmental group. Rather, it is a business advocacy group that aims to contribute to the making of an environmental policy that also works with the business industry.
Among the issues that E2 is raising right now include the use of clean technologies, formation and implementation of sustainable energy policies, and better management of natural resources. Right now, E2 is giving its full support to the Department of Defense (DOD) using biofuels for their jets, ships, tanks, and trucks. On the issue on global warming, E2 is advocating the U.S. legislation of reducing the emissions of carbon dioxide and heat-trapping pollutants.
Just recently, E2 announced the potential of a job market in the Clean Energy Sector – in manufacturing, power generation, transportation, and energy efficiency. In the second quarter of this year, there are approximately 35,000 jobs all over the U.S. in this sector.
E2 is strictly classified as a typical business chamber where individuals from the business sectors seek to improve their interests. However, E2 also has the interests of a sustainable environment in mind. They seek to disprove that sustainability can interfere with business and profit.
