Couri, Rella, and Darrow started the Ridgefield, Connecticut-based company in 2008, when they were expanding the services of their landscaping and irrigation business. They soon discovered that the parking lot line-striping industry is a potential six hundred million dollar market in an almost thirty billion dollar parking industry. Originally dominated by construction crews, the trio decided to initiate a new business to dominate this sleeping industry. But first, they had to come up with “a kick-ass name” to compensate the business’s lack of excitement.
The name “We Do Lines” came to be when they were sitting in an office, brainstorming for their business. It started out as a joke, but the more they thought about it, the more they thought they should consider it. After completing the business model, they registered the name and logo. News of their business spread and was imprinted in the minds of the customers.
As their company grew, they became more involved in the in safety aspect, in addition to the business side. All lined up and in the paint, Couri, Rella and Darrow have included a two-day safety course at We Do Lines University, a training center for their franchisers. They also work with the fire marshal to make sure that the parking lots they handle have fire lanes, and comply with the requirements specified by the American Disabilities Act.
With fifty million parking spaces and counting in the country, Couri, Rella, and Darrow have a promising and lucrative career ahead of them.
