After graduating from the university with a B.A. in Radio-Television-Film and Communication, he continued working in various capacities at the family business, Coldwater Cattle Company, where he began reporting as a teenager. But he wanted to do more. He conducted due diligence and bought an established advertising agency. The firm’s success enabled the entrepreneur to buy a bank, where he served as Chairman of the Board. After learning as much as possible about the advertising business, he opened his own agency, Berneta Communications, Inc., named after his pioneering grandmother, and earned national awards. In addition, Joe Batson has shown intelligence and tenacity in completing a college degree. Since his teen years, he has demonstrated a strong work ethic in his professional pursuits. He did not wait for his career to happen. He investigated and bought a business, trading up to open his own firm. Once he became his own boss, he set the bar high, winning awards.
These various actions and accomplishments represent just the tip of the iceberg for the motivated business leader. Like any self-respecting entrepreneur, Joe Batson keeps several balls in the air at a time. Now President of Coldwater Cattle Company and a cowboy, pilot, philanthropist, and member of several boards, he continues to seek opportunities to expand his horizons.
