Chang’s family emigrated from Taiwan when she was only 5 years old. She had trouble learning the English language and had to repeat kindergarten, but aside from that, almost everything Chang does is a success. Her impressive résumé lists a string of accomplishments and valuable work experiences most people won’t be able to achieve in one lifetime. She was once the CEO of the fashion company Vivienne Tam and founded Simplycity Magazine where she used to be the publisher as well. She also worked as Marketing director of the French advertising agency Assouline and worked for Goldman Sachs and The New York Times.
Despite her string of successes, Chang decided to channel her talents into creating a company that deals something she was passionate about, Asian food. Her company organizes and hosts the LuckyRice festival which takes place once a year. It brings Asian food and culture to American cities with the help of chefs, restaurants, and culinary partners. The success of the first ever LuckyRice festival in New York allowed the company to expand its reach and hold the festivities in other major cities in the US.
