Although he constructed the first Hank’s Fine Furniture gallery in Sherwood, Arkansas, Hank Browne developed a notable fondness for the city of Texarkana as a young businessman and freshly minted college graduate. A Whirlpool appliance salesman at the time, he regularly visited the town to build relationships with retailers in the area, a pursuit he markedly enjoyed as it allowed him to interact directly with small business owners in the community. Decades later, Mr. Browne remains strongly committed to supporting Texarkana’s economy through his work with Hank’s Fine Furniture. Speaking to a reporter from the Texarkana Gazette who covered the unveiling of the retooled store on Walton Drive, Mr. Browne’s wife Cathy noted, “we’re not in the big cities like Dallas. We like smaller communities.”
Hank’s has maintained membership with the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce for 25 years. Extremely proud to be recognized as a stabilizing force in a fluctuating market, the company invests in projects like the Texarkana furniture gallery expansion with the hope of boosting economic activity across the board over the long-term, an approach that demonstrates Hank Browne’s commitment to mindful, meaningful business practices.
