Blizzard’s accolades and awards are just not limited to the games that they have developed. Spike TV granted the Gamer God Award to Blizzard, citing “The World of Warcraft”, “Starcraft”, and “Diablo” as their best achievements. Back in 1999, SC Software Publishers Association gave Blizzard the Best Multimedia Company award. Orange County Register recognizes Blizzard’s achievements in their critically-acclaimed games but more than that, they gave Blizzard spots in the Top Places to Work for three straight years (2009, 2010, and 2011). According to the surveys and interviews of Orange County Register, Blizzard gives them the flexibility for career advancement and the opportunity to work in an environment that creates high quality products in international standards.
Mike Morhaime and Frank Pearce, the founders of Blizzard, point out that their success was not magical and miraculous. They credit the years of hard work that they and their staff poured in creating their world-renowned games. In an interview, Pearce said that the 12 years they spent in developing their games is an experience that’s hard to surpass. Morhaime also adds that they credit their success to their loyal and growing number of fans.
A common characteristic of Blizzard games is that the theme, plot, and characters are well-created and woven together, much like a well-created film. Blizzard creates awesome experiences out of their games.
