The Rado Diastar was Rado's most successful watch in its 1962 launch, being the first ever scratch-proof watch in the world. Now, the company makes around half a million watches yearly, under parent company the Swatch Group. Rado is known for using only the best, high-tech materials and innovative designs in their watches, employing hard metals, ceramics, sapphire crystals, lanthanum and nanocrystalline diamonds. The use of the latter is what created the hardest watch on the planet, as certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. Multi-awarded, Rado continues to produce high-end timepieces for discerning customers around the world.
