Opening in 1967, SERVPRO started out as a painting business for Ted and Doris Isaacson. Taking advantage of their background in restoration and cleaning, the two changed the direction of the company to become a franchisor offering restoration and cleanup services. The first SERVPRO franchise was sold in 1969. In 1979, the company acquired the Domesticare Division of Bristol-Meyers and along with it 175 franchises. SERVPRO's decision to move to Gallatin in 1988 was fueled by the need for expansion. At its current headquarters, SERVPRO is comfortably sitting within 600 miles of 50% of the population in the United States.
