Fraser Doherty, also known as Jam Boy, has been experimenting with his grandmother’s recipes since he was 14. He initially sold his jam creations to his friends and neighbors and soon enough his client base grew larger that he decided to quit school when he was 16 to concentrate on his jam concoctions he called SuperJam. Everything was looking up for this young entrepreneur and in 2007, he hit the jackpot when UK supermarket giant Waltrose approached him and offered to carry his SuperJam line in their stores. Since then, large retailers in the UK and Ireland like Tesco, Asda Wal-Mart, and Morrisons have started carrying Doherty’s SuperJam.
Fraser Doherty was named one of Inc. Magazine’s 30 under 30 in 2010. Jam Boy’s success at a very young age proves that anyone can make it big with a great idea, a little business savvy and some luck.
